By Introduction is a service based in Raleigh, North Carolina, offering curated introductions through small gatherings of value-aligned individuals seeking meaningful, long-term relationships.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By becoming a client of By Introduction, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy (together, the “Agreement”).

We may update this Agreement from time to time due to changes in law, business practices, or services. If changes materially affect your rights, we will notify you by reasonable means (such as email). Continued participation in our services constitutes acceptance of any updates.

2. Eligibility

To participate, you must:

    • Be at least 18 years old
    • Be legally single, divorced, or widowed
    • Be seeking a partner who shares your Christian faith and values
    • Be seeking a sincere, committed relationship
    • Provide truthful, accurate, and complete information

You agree to disclose any criminal history. We reserve the right to determine, at our sole discretion, whether any individual is an appropriate fit for participation.

3. Nature of the Service

By Introduction provides curated introductions through small, in-person gatherings and relational matching.

By participating, you acknowledge and agree that:

    • We do not guarantee matches, introductions, relationship outcomes, or marriage
    • We do not guarantee a minimum number of introductions, invitations, or events
    • Compatibility and relationship success cannot be predicted or assured
    • Our role is limited to facilitating introductions and fostering opportunities for connection

Participation in By Introduction does not create any partnership, agency, employment, or fiduciary relationship between participants and the service.

4. Safety and Personal Responsibility

While we seek to foster a trustworthy and respectful community, participation is at your own discretion and risk.

You acknowledge and agree that:

    • We do not conduct background checks of any kind unless explicitly stated otherwise
    • We rely primarily on self-reported information provided by participants
    • Participation does not constitute a warranty, endorsement, or representation regarding any individual’s character, safety, intentions, or suitability
    • You are solely responsible for exercising good judgment in all interactions

We strongly encourage participants to:

    • Meet in public settings initially
    • Use discretion when sharing personal, financial, or sensitive information
    • Take appropriate precautions in all communications and interactions

You assume full responsibility for your decisions, conduct, and interactions with other participants.

5. Gatherings and Events

By attending any By Introduction gathering or event, you acknowledge and agree that:

    • Participation is voluntary and at your own risk
    • You are responsible for your own safety, well-being, and personal property
    • By Introduction is not liable for injuries, losses, damages, disputes, or incidents arising at events or between participants

We reserve the right to:

    • Modify, reschedule, relocate, or cancel events at any time
    • Limit attendance
    • Remove any participant whose presence may negatively affect the integrity, safety, or atmosphere of the gathering

6. Client Conduct

You agree to:

    • Treat all participants and staff with respect, honesty, and integrity
    • Communicate appropriately and truthfully
    • Respect personal boundaries and consent
    • Conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the values and purpose of the service

You agree not to:

    • Engage in harassment, coercion, intimidation, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior
    • Misrepresent your identity, relationship status, intentions, or background
    • Use the service for commercial, promotional, or non-relational purposes
    • Share confidential or personal information about other participants without permission

Violation of these standards may result in suspension or immediate removal from the service.

7. Confidentiality and Privacy

We take participant privacy and confidentiality seriously.

We will not sell your personal information. We may share limited information as reasonably necessary to facilitate introductions, coordinate gatherings, operate the service, or comply with legal obligations.

You agree to:

    • Keep information about other participants confidential
    • Refrain from sharing screenshots, personal details, photographs, or identifying information without consent
    • Not use information obtained through the service for any harmful, exploitative, or unlawful purpose

Additional information regarding data collection, retention, deletion requests, and third-party service providers is outlined in our Privacy Policy found at the bottom of this Agreement.

8. Communication Expectations

To remain active in the service, you agree to:

    • Respond to communications within a reasonable timeframe, generally within 5 business days
    • Notify us of significant changes to your relationship status
    • Provide honest and constructive feedback when requested

Failure to remain reasonably engaged may result in paused or discontinued participation.

9. Membership and Termination

You may end your participation at any time.

By Introduction reserves the right to suspend, pause, decline, or terminate participation at any time, with or without notice, for reasons including but not limited to:

    • Conduct inconsistent with the values or purpose of the service
    • Inappropriate or disruptive behavior
    • Safety or reputational concerns
    • Inactivity or lack of engagement
    • Violation of this Agreement

In the event participation is terminated by By Introduction, fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

10. Fees and Payments

Fees for participation, gatherings, memberships, or events will be communicated separately at the time of enrollment or purchase.

Unless otherwise stated:

    • Fees are non-refundable
    • Participation is not contingent upon receiving matches, introductions, invitations, or relationship outcomes

If By Introduction cancels an event, a full refund or equivalent credit will be issued unless otherwise communicated in advance.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

    • By Introduction is not responsible for the actions, conduct, statements, behavior, or representations of any participant
    • We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, emotional, reputational, or special damages arising from participation in the service or events
    • You agree to indemnify and hold harmless By Introduction and its owners, representatives, employees, contractors, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from your participation or violation of this Agreement

12. Photography and Media

By Introduction will not use your name, likeness, image, testimonial, or photographs for marketing or promotional purposes without your express written consent.

Participants are also expected to respect the privacy and discretion of others and should not photograph, record, or publicly share images or identifying information from gatherings without permission.

13. Intellectual Property

All branding, materials, processes, concepts, written content, and service-related materials associated with By Introduction are the exclusive property of the service and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission.

14. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina.

Before initiating any legal proceeding, the parties agree to first attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith mediation conducted in North Carolina.

If a dispute cannot be resolved through mediation, any legal action shall be brought exclusively in the courts of North Carolina.
